How it works

Break the core.

  1. One lane

A single lane joins the two fountains. Minions walk it in waves; the towers shoot as they do in Verdant Reach.

  2. Towers, then the core

Break the outer tower, then the inner tower. Only then can the core be attacked, and when it falls the match is won.

  3. Gold and the shop

Kills and minions pay gold and levels. Spend gold at the item shop, which is open during the 30-second preparation too.

  4. A small jungle

2v2 and 3v3 add two buff camps per side with the Thornheart and Springheart buffs. 1v1 has no jungle.

Brackets

Three sizes, each rated on its own.

  • 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3

Each size has an unrated and a rated queue. Level 50 only.

  • A rating per bracket

1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 each keep their own rating and ladder, apart from the arenas and from each other.

  • Never a bot

Rated Gauntlet games are never filled with bots.

  • The clock

At 20 minutes the match ends on a verdict: more enemy structures destroyed, then more health left on your core, then more kills, then more gold earned. Still level, it is a draw.

How to queue

Type it or click it.

A Gauntlet match.
The hub where you queue.

Say .gauntlet queue 2v2 rated in chat (use 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3, and leave off rated for an unrated game), or use the Gauntlet panel. .gauntlet leave leaves the queue and .gauntlet status shows where you stand. Parties queue together as usual.

In testing. Gauntlet is built and has been run with bots and test players, but it is not open in the live queue yet. This page will say so when it is.

Queue up.

Get the launcher and make an account now, so you are in the queue the day it opens.
