How it works

Queue, fight, climb.

Queue for a bracket
Pick 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5. Your character is level 50 from the start, so the queue is the only wait.
Fight a rated match
Your rating moves with each result: beat a stronger team and you gain more, lose to a weaker one and you drop further.
Climb the tiers
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Gladiator. Each season you are placed by your final rating.
Reset and go again
When a season ends, rewards go out and ratings soft-reset, so there is always something to climb.

Why it holds up

Equal footing
Everyone starts on the same gear tier, so the build and the play are the only variables.
Cosmetic rewards
Season tiers hand out titles, portrait borders and looks. Ratings never buy power, and gameplay power is never sold.
Fair queues
Matches with a bot in them are never rated, so every point on the ladder was won against people.
Tournament ready
Arena brackets run as single-elimination events with spectators, casts and cosmetic prizes.
